Near East Asia Undergraduate Intensive English Language Study Program
The American Center is pleased to announce the Near East Asia Undergraduate Intensive English Language Study Program - June 21 – August 14, 2009
Purpose:
The NEA Undergraduate Intensive English Language Study Program is an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to study in the U.S. for two months during the summer of 2009. The program will allow the participants to be involved in eight-week intensive English language courses and will provide the selected students with in-depth exposure to U.S. society, culture and academic life by engaging in substantive exchange programs and community activities at a U.S university.
Program sponsors and benefits:
The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Selected candidates will have their international airfare, tuition and fees covered.
They will also have accident and health insurance, a book allowance housing and subsistence.
Eligibility:
- First, second and third year undergraduate university students in any academic field of study;
- Bac. students graduating in June 2009;
- Demonstrated academic excellence, cross-cultural interest and leadership potential;
- Accepted level of proficiency in written and spoken English;
- Priority will be given to those with demonstrated financial need.

- Personal statement in English 350 – 500 words;
- Copies of the official transcripts for years of university study;
- Copy of the official results of the Bac exam;
- Three letters of recommendation from teachers/professors, including one from a secondary school teacher;
- Two passport-size photos;
- Copy of your passport bio data page;
* The TOEFL/ITP is not required at this stage.
Deadline:
All applications must be submitted before November 21, 2008.
Applications received after this deadline will NOT be reviewed.
