U.S., Tunisian Experts Discuss Nuclear Energy
Tunis, November 24 - On November 19th, Special Envoy Jackie Wolcott and a delegation from the United States National Nuclear Security Administration and Nuclear Regulatory Commission met in Tunis with representatives from the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology, the Center for Nuclear Research, the Ministry of Public Health and the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company.
The purpose of the visit was to exchange information about Tunisia's planned civilian nuclear energy program and 2020 target date to open a nuclear power plant. Discussions touched on possible future exchanges, as well as on science and technology cooperation.
