American skateboard professional and entrepreneur Seth Levy completed a highly successful one-week PA and ECA supported sports diplomacy program throughout Tunisia. The skateboard program traveled over 1,300 kilometers all around the country and held events Carthage, Sousse, Tataouine, Sidi Bouzid and La Marsa. Seth Levy was accompanied by Embassy Tunis amateur skateboarder Jared Gibson, winner of the 2011 Foreign Service Youth Service Award for his fund raising with his skateboard, and PA staff.

The program succeeded in engaging with hundreds of Tunisian youth all around the country by introducing the sport of skateboarding and the U.S. Embassy to new and far flung audiences. The programs combination of education, instruction, and entertainment captivated and energized the youth participants through discussion, video presentations, hands-on instruction, and performances. Everywhere the program went there were requests for more – more skateboarding, more programming, more interactions with the U.S. Embassy.
